Ever dreamed of starting from the bottom and working your way up to cycling legend status? Well, that dream just got a whole lot more real. Career Mode is now live - a community-created addition built on TrainingPeaks Virtual that's not your typical single-player experience.

Here's the thing - Career Mode is what they're calling a "hybrid single player experience." What does that mean? You get all the benefits of racing on your own schedule, but you're still competing against real humans from around the world. It's like having your cake and eating it too, except the cake is virtual cycling and it's actually pretty awesome.

Picture this: You're starting your first season. Your mom just dropped you off at the race with your trusty (and slightly worn) 10-year-old race bike. The nerves are real, but so is the excitement. That's where your Career Mode journey begins, and it's completely unique to you. The game weaves a full narrative throughout your career, making each race feel like part of a bigger story - your story.

But here's where it gets interesting. You're not just racing against faceless bots. Each bot has their own backstory and personality. They have feelings too, apparently. And when you're racing, you'll see other human racers working through their own career journeys. You can even give them a high-five as you pass by. It's social, but on your own terms.

After each race, win or lose, you'll face the media. Your answers in those post-race interviews matter - they shape your personality and steer your career in directions you might not expect. It's like a choose-your-own-adventure book, but with more watts and less reading.

What Makes Career Mode Special

• Schedule events in your own time - Race when it suits you, with automatic results processing. No more waiting around for scheduled start times.
• Hybrid single-player mode - You can invite friends to join or play solo. Compete in a single player season but see how you stack up against other humans globally. High-5 other human racers as they progress through their own journeys.
• Bespoke story mode narratives throughout your journey - It's your first season racing. Your mother has driven you to the race with your worn out 10 year-old race bike. The nerves are unbearable, but you're going to give it your all. Your journey through TPV Career Mode is completely unique, and a full narrative will bring the story to life.
• The Bots are Alive! - The bots have feelings too. Each bot that you race against has their own back story, brought to life with unique bot profiles.
• Develop your personality and determine your future with post-race media interviews - After each race, face the media win or lose. Your answers will determine how your personality develops, which will steer your career in unknown ways…
• Special one-off community events - As well as the standard single-player journey through seasons, there are also periodic one-off races that the full community can take part in to earn extra career points and unique awards.
• Earn cadence credits to unlock bonuses - Every race is an opportunity to earn Cadence Credits, which can be spent in the store to purchase items that give you a points bonus if you meet certain conditions - or other cool extras.
• Collect awards based on specific in-race achievements - There are over 50 unique awards that can be earned through racing, for example the Bullseye award for finishing in the same place that you were predicted, or the photo finish award for… a photo finish.
• See your lifetime career statistics on the data-rich Palmares page - All career statistics are recorded for you to peruse on your Palmares page. One for the stats geeks.
