The Sparkassen Münsterland Giro is a prominent one-day German professional cycling race held annually in October, concurrent with the country's national holiday, German Unity Day. Established in 2006, this UCI ProSeries classic winds through the scenic, predominantly flat terrain of northwest Germany's Münsterland region before concluding with a grand finish in front of the Prince-Bishop's Palace in Münster. Because of its layout, the race typically serves as an explosive, high-speed battleground dominated by the world’s elite sprinters seeking a late-season victory. Alongside the professional peloton, the event also plays host to a massive amateur cycling festival ("Jedermannrennen") that draws thousands of recreational riders each year.
