Il Lombardia is one of the five monuments in professional cycling. For this week’s classic we will take on the Madonna del Ghisallo climb, named after the church that sits atop this iconic climb. It starts out fairly gentle before a difficult approach to the pass. The descent has quite a few hairpins before arriving at Lake Como. A long flat stretch precedes the final climb to the finish.
