Summer camp #3 Turbo Threshold Tornado: Hit & Hold Under Pressure
1h 3m70 tss
Primary Training Focus: Muscular Endurance
Secondary Focus: Aerobic Endurance
Goal: Build strength and mental resilience to hold threshold power when fatigued
-
Session Overview:
This one’s built for the trainer—shorter, sharper, and more focused. No long Zone 2 lead-in here; we’re cutting straight to the good stuff.
-
You’ll start with a smooth warm-up before hitting a blocks of Over-Unders—cycling between just below and just above your FTP. This simulates the kind of stress you’d feel in a surging group or punchy climb, but more importantly, it keeps the mind engaged (and the boredom at bay!).
-
After that, you’ll finish with a full-gas effort to replicate the final dig at the end of a hard ride—perfect prep for race finishes, attacking climbs, or just proving you’ve still got something left in the tank.
-
Why It Works:
This session is all about teaching your body (and your brain) to push when it counts. On the trainer, where every pedal stroke matters and there’s no freewheeling, we make it interesting with varied intensities and a clear goal: build fatigue resistance under pressure.
